Unusual Maurice Goldberg Photograph.
An unusual photograph, apparently of the Duncan Dancers. 8 x10 inches, with
the round-lense image in the center. With the raised stamp of the photographer,
Maurice Goldberg (1881-1949), at the bottom right margin. Goldberg is widely
recognized as the greatest dance photographer of the 1920s and 30s and supplied
the photographs for John Martin's NY Times commentaries on the state of dance.
He was also George Gershwin's favorite photographer, and his photograph of
Gershwin at the piano remains an iconic image in the history of American
music.
